Collections

A scientific collection is a carefully curated and organized assembly of items, specimens, or objects used for research and educational purposes in various scientific disciplines. Specifically, collections related to organisms, plants, fungi, animals, insects, and fossils may be referred to as natural history collections or biodiversity collections. Scientific collections are meticulously arranged, labeled, and cataloged to ensure easy accessibility for research and educational purposes. They play a crucial role in the development of scientific knowledge, documentation of biodiversity, and preservation of cultural heritage. The Biodiversity Science Museum – ABBM houses scientific collections comprising over 250,000 individuals and approximately 10,000 species. Originating from the Anatolian biogeographic region, this collection's richest groups are insects and plants.
